The Valley Garden Foundation, Inc./Valley Garden Apartments will open its waiting list for applicants that qualify for one, two, and three bedroom housing assistance effective Monday, November 12, 2018 until further notice. Applications will be taken daily from 9:00AM  - 11:00AM and 1:00PM - 3:00PM.
The waiting list is for housing and housing assistance for the Section 8 project.

HUD Section 8 


HUD Section 8 is a Department of Housing and Urban  Development (HUD) subsidized, multifamily community located in the Southwest area of Huntsville, Alabama. The apartments are professionally managed by Oxford Properties.

Built in 1967, the community is project based Section 8. Rents are set according to income. No vouchers are accepted. Staff members are well-trained and experienced. Management and staff attend frequent workshops to keep current on Federal regulations and guidelines affecting affordable housing. Required training also covers areas such as fair housing, safety, HUD updates, and compliance.

The 144 garden style units, ranging from one to three bedrooms, are spacious and economical. All apartments have a large living room area and a kitchen/dining room combination. Kitchen appliances are provided. Apartments have heating and air conditioning. All ground floor apartments have both a front and a rear entrance. Upstairs apartments are accessed from a breezeway. Bedrooms are large and contain ample closet space. Floors have durable coverings.

Beyond basic needs, the well maintained building interiors and exteriors also provide residents of Valley Garden Apartments a place of comfort and pride in which to live. We have units fully accessible.  We are also proud to be a smoke free community.
